Deon W. '14

It was freshman year and I was sitting in the café holding my stomach, halfway through lunch and I hadn’t eaten a thing.  The problem was that my Pops didn’t have lunch money for me so I had to ask around.  I didn’t even get a dime from anyone.  As I watched all my classmates munch on hamburgers, chicken patties, chicken salad, wraps, and fries, I lowered my head and recognized my fate.  I was going to have to wait until I got home to eat.  But then Dr. Lansang came into the room.  As a last ditch effort I ran to him and told him my situation.  Without hesitation, he gave me a $10 bill.  I only asked for $3.  He told me to get whatever I wanted and just to give him back the change.  I thanked him and ran into the line to get my food.  However, a couple of weeks later, the situation reoccurred and once again he gave me money.  Ever since then, anytime I needed money for lunch, Dr. Lansang never hesitates to give me some.
